Deacon Wally was born and raised in Michigan. In 1987 he joined the United States Marine Corps. Calabrese spent 20 years on active duty and retired in 2007 as a Gunnery Segeant.

Calabrese was ordained to the diaconate June 26, 2010. Calabrese was in the second class for the Diocese of Raleigh. Upon ordination, Calabrese was assigned to Annunciation Parish in Havelock.

Calabrese authored The Apostles and Me! (2019), Confirmed and Ready! (2021) and Living a Catholic and Moral Life (2021). Calabrese has a passion for spreading the great love of Christ and the Catholic Faith.

Calabrese earned his bachelor's degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a master's degree in Pastoral Theology from St. Joseph’s college.

Amy is from the Philippines.  Amy has a very strong devotion to our Lady, and encourages everyone to pray the Rosary daily.

Amy enjoys praying and reflecting on her prayers daily. She teaches religion for the preschool and kindergardner classes at Annunciation Catholic School in Havelock.

Amy and Deacon Wally have been married almost 30 years,  they have been blessed with two beautiful daughters who are both married and have children of their own.
